Brenda A. Day-Bevis, Executive Director

Prior to Stragent Foundation, Brenda worked at LeTourneau University for almost 20 years and was on staff at Mobberly Baptist Church for 16 years.  Brenda is married to Gordon Bevis.  She has two sons and a daughter-in-law – Garrett & Rachel Day and Griffin Day.  Brenda received her Associate’s Degree from East Central University and her BBA with academic achievement from LeTourneau University.

Brenda currently serves as secretary on the Executive Board of East Texas CASA and is a Getting Together Safely volunteer.  She is an active member of Mobberly Baptist Church where she serves as an ensemble director, Praise Team member and choir team leader. She is an active member of the Zonta Club of Longview where she serves on both the Grants Committee and Scholarships Committee.  She is a volunteer for Keep Longview Beautiful’s Go    Green Task Force and is involved with the Go Green Team—an educational recycling program for school-aged youth.  In addition to helping oversee D.O.R.S. Youth Transition Center, Brenda is also involved with Shepherd Network mentoring program for homeless adults, the Stragent Dog Park and has coordinated the partnership with ArtsView Children’s Theatre in providing enrichment activities to low income children.  Brenda is a past volunteer for Junior Achievement, Forever Friends mentor and has taught American Management Association management development courses to working adults.  Brenda currently teaches development courses to participants of Stragent Foundation’s D.O.R.S. Youth Transition Center.  Says Brenda, "One of the highlights of my professional career and of my life as a whole is the opportunity to combine experience in business, teaching and ministry with the privilege of serving my community in helping improve the quality of life, pets and even the environment for many wonderful East Texans!"
